I'm Samuel — Kylea and I co-founded Queen City Farm together, and we manage it together today. I grew up around horses on a family farm in Greenville, Ohio, before my family moved to Kentucky when I was six. Farming runs on both sides of my family: my grandmother grew up on a farm in Irvine, Kentucky with eleven brothers and sisters, and my grandfather grew up on a smaller family farm of his own — both families raising what they needed to survive, meat and produce alike. That upbringing shaped how I think about raising animals long before it became our livelihood.
Professionally, I'm a software engineer — I hold a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Information Technology from the University of Cincinnati, and I work in that field full-time off the farm. Everything else — the hogs, the flock, the pasture rotations, the systems behind our online shop — happens in the hours around that job, because this farm is the second full-time thing we chose to build.

Raised on a Farm, From the Start
I grew up around horses on a family farm in Greenville, Ohio, before my family moved to Kentucky when I was six. Farming runs deep on both sides of my family — my grandmother grew up on a farm in Irvine, Kentucky with eleven brothers and sisters, and my grandfather grew up on a smaller family farm with siblings of his own. Both families raised what they needed to survive — meat, produce, all of it. That influence shaped how I think about raising animals — patiently, hands-on, and with respect for the work it actually takes. It's the reason Queen City Farm exists at all.
Education
I hold a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Information Technology from the University of Cincinnati. That background in systems and process shows up more than you'd expect in how we run the farm — tracking bloodlines, managing processing schedules, and building the tools behind our online shop and cut sheet.
Software Engineer by Day, Farmer Always
I work full-time as a software engineer off the farm. Nights, weekends, and everything in between go to Queen City Farm — moving pasture fences, checking on the hogs and flock, and handling the operational side of the business. It's not a hobby farm; it's a second full-time job we chose because we believe in it.
Building Queen City Farm From the Ground Up
Kylea and I founded Queen City Farm together in 2022 on a property in New Richmond, Ohio. After outgrowing that space, we found our forever home on 50 acres in Falmouth, Kentucky — where we manage the farm together today, raising pasture-raised pork, chicken, and lamb alongside Kylea's Australian Shepherd breeding program.
