Indiana FAQ

Common Questions From Indiana Families

Are you an Australian Shepherd breeder serving Indiana?

Yes. Queen City Farm is based in Falmouth, Kentucky — about 30 miles south of Cincinnati — and we work with Indiana families regularly, including buyers from Indianapolis, Bloomington, Fort Wayne, Lafayette, Evansville, and beyond. We're one of the most convenient health-testing Aussie breeders for southern and central Indiana in particular.

How far is Queen City Farm from major Indiana cities?

We're about 2.5 hours (roughly 130 miles) from Indianapolis via I-74 East. Bloomington and Lafayette families generally make a full day of it, while Fort Wayne, South Bend, and Evansville families often turn pickup into a weekend trip through Cincinnati or Northern Kentucky.

Do you have Australian Shepherd puppies for sale in Indiana?

Yes — we place puppies with Indiana families from every litter. The best way to see what's available now or coming up is our available puppies page. We breed a small number of carefully planned litters per year, so families typically apply ahead of time and reserve a spot for an upcoming litter.

Do you ship puppies to Indiana?

No. Every puppy is met by their family in person at the farm — it's an important part of how we transition puppies into their new homes. The drive from most of Indiana is reasonable for an in-person pickup, and many families make it part of a fun day.

Why drive from Indiana when there are breeders closer to home?

Because the breeder you choose shapes the dog you live with for the next 12 plus years. Full health testing, titled parents, and on-farm socialization aren't standard everywhere. Many of our Indiana families say they wish they had come to us first.

What about "mini" or "toy" Australian Shepherds — do you breed those?

No. Those are marketing labels, not real breeds. The only AKC-recognized smaller breed in the Aussie family is the Miniature American Shepherd, which is a separate breed entirely. We breed AKC-registered Australian Shepherds.

Can Indiana families visit the farm before applying?

Yes. We welcome serious buyers to come walk the farm, meet our dogs, and see how puppies are raised. Reach out through our contact form to schedule a visit, or follow us on social for occasional open farm days.
