West Virginia FAQ

Common Questions From West Virginia Families

Are you an Australian Shepherd breeder serving West Virginia?

Yes. Queen City Farm is based in Falmouth, Kentucky — just south of Cincinnati — and we work with West Virginia families regularly. Huntington is only about 2.5 hours away, and Charleston about 3 hours, both via I-64.

How far is the farm from major West Virginia cities?

Huntington is about 150 miles (roughly 2.5 hours), Charleston about 180 miles (roughly 3 hours), and Morgantown around 5 hours. The drive is mostly interstate.

Do you have Australian Shepherd puppies for sale in West Virginia?

Yes — we place puppies with West Virginia families from every litter. The best way to see what's available now or coming up is our available puppies page. We breed a small number of carefully planned litters per year.

Do you ship puppies to West Virginia?

No. Every puppy is met by their family in person at the farm — pickup day is an important part of how we transition puppies into their new homes.

What about "mini" or "toy" Australian Shepherds — do you breed those?

No. Those are marketing labels, not real breeds. The only AKC-recognized smaller breed in the Aussie family is the Miniature American Shepherd, which is a separate breed entirely. We breed AKC-registered Australian Shepherds.

Can West Virginia families visit the farm before applying?

Yes. We welcome serious buyers to come walk the farm, meet our dogs, and see how puppies are raised. Reach out through our contact form to schedule a visit.
