Our Ethics
Raised With Ethics First — From Our Aussies to Our Lamb
Whether it's a puppy being raised inside our home or a hog rooting through our forest paddock, every animal at Queen City Farm is raised with welfare, transparency, and respect. Low-stress handling, no shortcuts — and as a local NKY breeder, you can come see it for yourself.
What We Do
Four Programs, One Farm
Whether you're looking for a well-bred Australian Shepherd puppy, a freezer full of pasture-raised pork or chicken, or a whole lamb share — Queen City Farm is the local choice for Northern Kentucky families.
Australian Shepherds
Health-tested, well-socialized, AKC-registered Australian Shepherds — OFA hips and elbows, CAER eye-certified by a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist, and full genetic panels through Embark and UC Davis. We title our dogs in AKC and UKC conformation, FastCAT, and trick dog. We are the local Australian Shepherd breeder for Northern Kentucky families.
Pasture-raised pork — our hogs root and forage in wooded paddocks, raised without routine antibiotics or hormones. Whole and half hog shares with all-in pricing (processing, smoking, and packaging included). Most of NKY is within our 60-mile Heritage share delivery zone.
Pasture-raised chicken — birds rotate on fresh grass in mobile shelters, raised without routine antibiotics or hormones. Whole birds and chicken shares for NKY families, with farm pickup or Heritage-tier delivery to most of the NKY metro.
Pasture-raised, rotationally grazed lamb — mild, clean, and beautifully butchered. Whole and half lamb shares with all-in pricing, plus optional organ meat and soup bones for raw-feeding NKY dog owners. Heritage delivery covers most of the Northern Kentucky metro.

Our Standards
Tested, Traceable, Trusted
Every Australian Shepherd in our breeding program is OFA-tested for hips and elbows, CAER eye certified by a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist, and DNA paneled through Embark and UC Davis. Every hog and lamb is raised without routine antibiotics or hormones, processed at a small USDA-inspected facility, and traceable back to the paddock it came from. Health and honesty aren't optional here.

NKY FAQ
Common Questions From NKY Families
Are you an Australian Shepherd breeder in Northern Kentucky?
Yes. Queen City Farm is based in Falmouth, Kentucky — Pendleton County, just south of the Cincinnati metro — and we are Northern Kentucky's local Australian Shepherd breeder. Most NKY families are 30 to 50 minutes from the farm, and many are repeat customers, friends, or referrals from the local NKY community.
How far is the farm from the main NKY cities?
We are roughly 40 minutes from Independence, 45 minutes from Covington, Newport, Fort Mitchell, and Edgewood, and about 50 minutes from Florence. The drive is straightforward — US-27 south from I-275 connects most of NKY directly to Falmouth.
Can NKY families visit the farm before reserving a puppy?
Absolutely — and we encourage it. Because we are local, visiting the farm is realistic for NKY families in a way it is not for buyers across the country. Come walk the property, meet the parents, see how puppies are raised, and ask every question you have. Reach out through our contact form to schedule.
How do NKY families bring home a puppy?
Puppy pickup happens at the farm in Falmouth by appointment. NKY families typically drive out for pickup day — many turn it into an afternoon, tour the farm, and meet our older dogs. We also do video calls and home introductions in the weeks leading up to pickup so you feel ready by the time pickup day arrives.
Do you ship puppies?
We do not ship puppies — every puppy is met by their family in person. For Northern Kentucky families this is not an obstacle at all; the drive is short and pickup day is part of the experience.
Why drive to Falmouth instead of buying from a closer city breeder?
Because the breeder you choose shapes the dog you live with for the next 12 plus years. Full health testing (OFA hips and elbows, CAER eyes by a board-certified ophthalmologist, and a genetic panel through Embark and UC Davis), titled parents, on-farm socialization, and a written lifetime return-to-breeder contract are not standard everywhere. Many of our NKY families say they wish they had come to us first.
What should I look for in a good Australian Shepherd breeder in Northern Kentucky?
Look for a breeder who health-tests every dog they breed — hips and elbows through OFA, eyes examined by a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist, and a genetic panel through Embark and UC Davis — and who shows you the results. Good breeders raise puppies underfoot with early socialization, prove their dogs in the show ring or dog sports, welcome you to meet the parents in person, and back every puppy with a written contract and lifetime return-to-breeder support. We walk through the full checklist — and the red flags worth walking away from — in our guide to choosing a responsible breeder.
What about "mini" or "toy" Australian Shepherds — do you breed those?
No, and neither does anyone else — those labels are marketing, not real breeds. The only AKC-recognized smaller breed in the Aussie family is the Miniature American Shepherd, which is a separate breed entirely. We breed AKC-registered Australian Shepherds.
Do you deliver pasture-raised pork or lamb in Northern Kentucky?
Most of NKY is inside our 60-mile Heritage share delivery zone, so we can bring your hog or lamb share straight to your door. Farm pickup is always available, and Saturday pickup at our Pendleton County farmers market booth is another option for NKY families.
