What “All-In” Means

Most farms advertise by hanging weight and let processing fees pile up at pickup. We price every share by finished packaged weight — the actual meat in your freezer — with everything baked in.

Included in Every Share

  • Kill fee & base processing
  • Standard cut & wrap (bone-in or boneless chops, roasts, etc.)
  • Vacuum sealing & labeling
  • Standard smoking (Smokehouse & Heritage tiers)
  • Cut sheet consultation with us
  • Organ meats at no charge (heart, liver, neck bones)
  • Farm pickup or market-day pickup at any of our markets

Before You Reserve

Quick Answers

Why is the estimated total a range?

Yield varies slightly per animal. A whole hog typically packages out to 100–120 lbs of meat depending on cut choices (bone-in vs boneless, ground vs roast). We charge for the actual packaged weight at pickup.

When is the balance due?

At pickup. We'll send you the exact packaged weight and final invoice a few days before your share is ready.

Can I change tiers after I reserve?

Yes, up until we finalize your cut sheet together (usually 1–2 weeks before processing). After that, changes may not be possible.

Can I split a share with someone?

Absolutely — splitting a whole hog with family or neighbors is a great way to save roughly $0.50/lb overall compared to buying a half. Just let us know in the notes and we'll package it accordingly.

Does it come frozen?

Yes — everything is vacuum-sealed, labeled with the cut name and pack date, and flash-frozen right after processing. All pickup and delivery is frozen only. Properly stored, your pork will keep excellent quality for 12+ months.

How much freezer space will I need?

It depends on freezer type — chest freezers pack more efficiently than uprights because there are no shelves in the way. Rough guidance:

Whole hog (≈100–120 lbs): about 4 cu ft in a chest freezer, or 5–6 cu ft in an upright.
Half hog (≈50–60 lbs): about 2 cu ft in a chest, or 3 cu ft in an upright.

A standard fridge-freezer compartment (~4–5 cu ft) can usually handle a half but will be tight for a whole.

How do I get it home?

Bring two or three large coolers with ice or ice packs, especially if you're driving more than 30 minutes. Frozen vacuum-sealed packages will hold temperature well for a few hours in a good cooler. We can provide ice at farm or market pickup if you need it. Heritage share customers get free home delivery within 60 miles, so no transport planning needed.
