How to Find Pasture-Raised Meat Near Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky

If you've searched "pasture-raised meat near me" from Cincinnati or Northern Kentucky, you've probably noticed the results are a mixed bag — a few real farms, a lot of grocery store marketing copy, and not much guidance on how to actually tell the difference. Here's how to find the real thing, and where we fit in.

Start With "Who Raised This, and Where?"

The single best filter for pasture-raised meat is a straight answer to "where was this animal actually raised, and can I go see it?" A farm that's comfortable naming its location and inviting you to visit is a good sign. A label that just says "pasture-raised" with no farm name attached is worth a second look.

We're a 50-acre working farm in Falmouth, Kentucky — about 30 minutes south of downtown Cincinnati and even closer to Northern Kentucky communities like Covington, Florence, and Alexandria. Every hog, chicken, and lamb we sell was born and raised right here, start to finish. No feedlots, no middlemen, no buying-in animals from elsewhere and relabeling them. You're welcome to come walk the pasture yourself.

Farmers Markets Are the Easiest Starting Point

Farmers markets are where most Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky families first find us. You get to meet the people who raised your food, ask questions on the spot, and see what's actually in season. We bring our stand to:

  • Pendleton County Farmers Market — Saturdays, Falmouth, KY
  • Harrison County Farmers Market — Saturdays, Harrison County, KY
  • Verona Vineyards — 1st & 3rd Sunday of the month, Verona, KY

See our full market schedule for current dates and hours — they shift a little with the seasons.

Or Order Online and Skip the Trip

Not everyone has a Saturday morning free for the market. If that's you, order online — pick the exact cuts you want, pay ahead, and choose farm pickup, market pickup, or local delivery at checkout. It's the same meat, no whole-animal commitment required.

What to Ask Before You Buy

If you're evaluating a farm you haven't bought from before, a few questions cut through the marketing quickly:

  • Where exactly is the animal raised, and can I visit? A real farm will give you a straight answer and an invitation.
  • What's the diet, and is anything injected or added? Ours isn't — what you buy is what cooks.
  • Are antibiotics or hormones used routinely? Ours aren't.
  • How is it processed? We use a small, family-run USDA-inspected facility about 45 minutes from the farm — every retail cut is properly inspected and labeled.

Serving Cincinnati and the Surrounding Region

We regularly hear from families across the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky metro — see our dedicated guides for pasture-raised meat near Cincinnati and pasture-raised meat near Northern Kentucky for delivery zones and drive times specific to your area. Farther out? We also serve Lexington and Louisville families who make the trip for pickup.
